“You Can Trust Me” – But He Was Lying the Whole Time

The Story:
Liisa, a 40-year-old woman from Tallinn, met “Mike” on Facebook Dating. He said he was a successful crypto investor living in London. They had deep conversations about life, loneliness, and finding someone genuine.

After a month of texting, Mike offered to “teach her how to invest.” He said:

“I trust you. I want us to build something big together.”

He sent her a link to a crypto trading platform and walked her through her first deposit — €300. She even saw the “profits” growing.

But when she tried to withdraw, the platform said she needed to pay a “security fee” of €600.

Mike stopped responding.

Later, she learned the platform was fake — and dozens of women had reported it to scam watchdogs.

Lesson:
Scammers use emotional bonds to get you to “invest” in love and money. Never trust anyone who asks you to use a platform they recommend without doing your own research first.
