The Story:
Andrei, a 38-year-old man from Tallinn, started chatting with a woman named “Daria” on Instagram. She was glamorous, fun, and gave him a lot of attention. After a few weeks of daily flirting, she told him she wanted to “spoil” him with a surprise.
But there was a catch.
She needed him to buy her a €50 Steam or Google Play gift card. “Just so I can activate something for us,” she wrote. When he hesitated, she sent a selfie in lingerie and promised something “special” in return.
Andrei bought the card, sent the code — and then she vanished.
Later, he found her photos were taken from a model’s account in Ukraine.
Red Flags:
- Gift card requests = 100% scam
- Seductive pressure followed by urgency
- Refusal to speak live or meet
